ANNEX 2 - CONDITIONS CONSISTENT WITH THE OPERATING SCHEDULE
Prevention of Crime and Disorder
(1) The holder of the premises licence will ensure that appropriate supervision and monitoring by responsible adults is always in place.
(2) The holder of the premises licence will ensure that school staff and parent volunteers who work within the school are subject to Criminal Records Bureau clearance.
(3) The holder of the premises licence will ensure that access is appropriately monitored on entry and during events.
(4) The holder of the premises licence will ensure that the premises has an alarm system which allows areas of the schools not being used to be secured.
(5) The holder of the premises licence will ensure that there is security lighting on site.
Public Safety
(6) The holder of the premises licence will ensure that:
(a) all escape routes and exits, including external exits, are properly maintained in good order with non slippery and even surfaces;
(b) all escape routes are kept unobstructed, free of trip` hazards and are clearly identified;
(c) where chairs and tables are provided, all internal gangways are kept unobstructed,
(d) all exit doors are regularly checked to ensure that they function satisfactorily and a record of all such checks is kept;
(7) The holder of the premises licence will ensure that:
(a) notices detailing the actions to be taken in the event of fire or other emergencies are prominently displayed;
(b) all such notices are protected from damage and deterioration.
(8) The holder of the premises licence will ensure that adequate and appropriate supplies of first aid equipment and materials are available, taking into account the capacity of the premises;
(9) The holder of the premises licence will ensure that appropriate planning and preparation is undertaken, supervision and safety arrangements are considered, and specific issues relating to any individual aspect of an event are considered in detail.
(10) The holder of the premises licence will ensure that safety and risk assessment are given high priority at all times.
Prevention of Public Nuisance
(11) The holder of the premises licence will ensure that noise levels are kept to a minimum, with children’s discos ending before 21:00 and adult discos ending by midnight.
(12) The holder of the premises licence will ensure that:
(a) prominent and clear notices / instructions are displayed at all relevant exit points instructing customers / staff to respect the needs of local residents and not to cause unnecessary noise when they leave the premises;
(b) public address announcements are made instructing customers / staff not to cause unnecessary noise when they leave the premises.
Protection of Children from Harm
(13) The holder of the premises licence will ensure that:
(a) the admission of children is restricted in accordance with the following recommendations:
U - Universal. Suitable for audiences aged 4 years and over;
PG - Parental Guidance. Some scenes may be unsuitable for young children;
12A - passed only for viewing by persons aged 12 years or older or persons younger than 12 when accompanied by an adult;
15 - passed only for viewing by persons aged 15 or over;
18 - passed only for viewing by persons aged 18 or over.
(b) where the film being exhibited has been passed by the British Board of Film Classification, a reproduction of the certificate is to be shown on the screen for at least 5 seconds in such a manner as to be easily readable by all persons in the auditorium;
(c) where the film exhibition includes a trailer advertising a film, a copy of the statement approved by the British Board of Film Classification is to be exhibited on screen.
(14) The holder of the premises licence will ensure that where an event is intended for adults only this is made clear.
(15) The holder of the premises licence will ensure that school staff are trained and briefed in all aspects of child protection.
